A press reception on Sep 1st 2014 marked the milestone for Madison Wine and Fook Lam Moon (Kowloon) Restaurant with the announcement that Madison Wine will become Fook Lam Moon (Kowloon)'s exclusive wine supplier. Not only will there be a diversified wine list, forthcoming events will include exclusive wine promotions, themed winery dinners and exquisite wine pairing set menus.
Came across a chance to taste the new release, 2010 vintage, of Wynns Coonawarra Estate a few days ago. The most impressive ones are Wynns John Riddoch Cabernet Sauvignon and Wynns Michael Shiraz. Both of them are concentrated, powerful, structured and elegant. Both are layered and complex with black fruits, with silky texture and pronounced acidity. Perhaps the element to distinguish between the two could only be the spicy mint in Cabernet. Of the two wines, I prefer Michael Shiraz as I am more into intense dark fruit palate spectrum. Both wines will match dishes such as West lake Duck and Lions Head Meatballs or dishes with gravy with savoury taste.
Assuming almost every wine lover will have drunk Bordeaux wines, the popular appellations we come across in wine shops or supermarkets could be, to name a few, St Estephe, St Julien, Paulliac, Margaux, Graves, Medoc, Pomerol, St Emillion etc.
